crazy granny

my grandma (the kids great grandma) was able to fly out here a couple weeks ago for my little sister's wedding. we were all thrilled to have her here as we are not sure when/if she will make another trip to utah from arkansas. we were so lucky to have her stay with us a couple days after the wedding. we had such a great visit. when people who don't know crazy granny hear us calling her crazy think we are mean but it is all we have ever known her as - it is a term of endearment. it is not because her mind is gone - it is because she has always been a crazy & fun grandma. i can remember being a little kid & driving in her driveway, she would come out skipping & hopping with her knees up to her chin as she slapped her thighs. she has been a great grandma & we are so thankful for her. she finally retired from the dog track where she worked for 50 years - we sent her a male stripper on her last day of work. if i can figure out how i will upload the video to my blog. it is the most hilarious thing ever. she has not had an easy life but has taught me so many life lessons. we love her so much & so glad she was able to come out to visit.

we went to the park for an easter egg hunt. they had all the group on seperate fields. steve took jake & keegan & i took brock. his group was 1-3 & no parents were allowed to help.  brock was quick out of the gate & i was so proud he knew to pick up the egg & put it in his bag. i was cheering him on like such a proud mom. after he picked up a couple, he just sat in the middle of everything & opened them all. he was super cute! 



jake & keegan got lots of eggs with candy, money & prizes. after the hunt we visited with old friends & went to lunch. loving the weather!

so this was fun - how many colors could you name??

i realized that i am better at knowing my colors than how to spell them - HA! i was surprised that so many colors that i came up with are not even on the list (cream, navy, perwinkle, etc). anyways, i am so ready for some COLOR with spring flowers & green grass! we have had so much snow for so long I am READY for spring!

we got together with our game night group last night - which is always fun. steve & i played pool - we hadn't played since before we were married. steve had a pool table but had to sell it when we got married. i love pool but realized i am not as good as i once was. kids are excited to go to the plantarium today. we have our big easter egg hunt tommorrow morning which will be fun. steve is taking me to cheesecake for lunch. having family over for dinner on sunday. just a nice weekend to be home :) have a happy day!

off to california

i can't believe it is time to head back to cali. i LOVE cali & always look forward to going (even if it is work it is still a blast!) BUT i have a million things going on here & it is super hard for me to leave because there is so much i need to do HERE - in my office! but, nevertheless - i am on a flight in just a few short hours. i just uploaded all my files from my computer onto my laptop so i hope i have everything i need?! now, it is just finding the energy to do it after i work 12+ hour days at the show :) it has been such beautiful weather in UT this week - well, let's just say we have seen some sun & no snow. almost like spring is trying to come BUT it is suppose to snow Friday & Sunday - YUCK!! Glad I am heading to cali-  Have a GREAT weekend!

the day has come

today - i made the BIG step. a step i know i have needed to make for over a year but just was not ready - mentally or physically. i have tried to "get into shape" for the past 9 months but without any program, goals, or real motivation. i guess i expected all this weight i have gained to just come off like it came on - it hasn't. yes, i have wanted to lose the weight & get back in shape but it obviously has not been a priority because i have not done anything about it.i feel like i have failed at many attempts to lose the weight & it is simply that i had no set plan or program. i have had so much going on & just really haven't been able to put the time/effort into it. there has been a deadline or a trip or a party or something that is always in the way of me trying to diet. basically, i have not been ready nor has it been a priority. so, i signed up for nutrisystem a couple days ago & it arrived today. i am ready. no more excuses.
why i decided
i am well aware of what i should do & how i should eat but it is a time issue. i know exactly what i need to eat & do but it is too hard for me & my schedule. it is very common for me to go all day without eating anything then at 7 or 8 at night when i am starving - i eat (& typically not a healthy meal). so bad for your metabolism. it is not that i overeat as much as my body is in starvation mode all the time & holds onto everything i eat AND the fact that i don't always eat the most healthly things doesn't help either. nutrisystem had all the meals pre-packaged. so, i is a matter of packing my meals with me & making myself eat. then, with the amount of time i save (preparing dinner, going out to eat, etc) i am hoping to squeeze in a workout. so, now that i have announced it to the world - wish me luck on my success! i will keep you posted.

wedding weekend

this weekend my little sister, Sommer, got married. everyone came in town & it was good to have all of us together. it was the first time all of us have been together with all our kids & the kids loved every minute of it! Sommer looked so beautiful in her dress.

this picture cracks me up! brock is beyond worn out. he has eaten more than anyone could ever imagine (notice the pretzel in his hand & his jacket is not quite fitting like it should) & i think his diaper is down to his knees, he has just danced like a maniac on on the dance floor for more than 30 minutes (you should of seen him - it was the cutest thing ever!) he had a great time & even though he was all over the place - he was very good & such a crowd pleaser!!!
